| | 4 miles out to george washingtion accademy with Frida, stoner, and jp. We petted horses and named a few. |
| | ran the same way as yesterday but with kaylee too. |
| | first trail run out by quail lake. terrible. |
| | Ran with frida to the animal shelter! super fun got talking A LOT. |
| | Hell hole turn around! felt good!! my right thigh (quad, hammy?) had been bugging me pretty bad but it felt better to run on it. we got rang at by the town bell..twice! that was pretty legit. than an old guy with a microphone thing on his car said something to us while he drove by. still don't know what he said.. but it was cool! prolly the best run so far. |
| |
ran to the river-ish than back with hunter. felt fine, wonder if i was slowing hunter down.. oh well! weird that we didn't stop at the turn around but according to hunter, the guys never stop at turn arounds or pretty much anything. that's a bummer. i think i'll stick with running with the girls than. |
| |
animal shelter and back with frida, bit longer than we thought but thats okay! run felt good except i think i tied my shoelaces too tight so my feet kept falling asleep. got in a deep conversation with frida so time went by fast. |
| | fire station. found some doll heads hanging on a tree! |
| | green springs. RAIN!!! best.run.ever. |
| | rolling hills at shnob kibe. |
| |
After standing there and arguing about either we should run to parkway or green springs... kaylee finally made the decision to go to green springs! even though JP and stoner were being babies.. i'm happy they picked that run cause it felt amazing!! the weather was awesome but afterwards i was supah tired. |
| | sandburgs plus striders and weights |
| | trail run by old airport. hard in during the middle but fun at the end |
| | around mountain with Frida :) |
| | Parkway. long... but good :) |
| | 5K children of Hope. ran with JP and Rachel. got 22:59.. haha! Rachel said truths when we got to the track but there's no such thing as truths in rachels vocab so she sprinted off at the last 50y. :P 3m with Brianna around the mountain | |
| | AM- 3 artic PM- old man hills 2,8,2 x2 |
| | washington fields. rachel scared some birds away, jerk. |
| | AM- 3 artic PM- 5m green springs |
| | around school.. pretty lame. Tyson almost died in front of me but he survived. |
| | AM- 3 artic PM- Last trail run (6 i think?) out by the time share. long at first and complained until jp got mad and told me to quit it.. oops. saw 3 helicopters, which was gnarly. then picked up a water bottle and passed it around for everybody to drink :) Roberts ran with us! prolly wasn't wearing socks again, nasty :P. Frida told me to keep telling her that we're more than half way done. pretty motivating right? the end. |
| | ran 5 miles to the school with Stoner and Frida. longest stretch from fridas to the stop sign.. so long. after that it was all good. then ran the Taleah 5K and got somewhere in the 21s-22? forgot. tried catching up with JP cause she was right there in front of me but little old ladies kept getting in the way (great excuse eh?) but really, it was difficult weaving in and out. |
| | sunrise tire hills. 3 400, 4 200. fun fun fun.... |
| | artic and sandburgs cause stoner loves it |
| | am- 3, yup artic pm- 6, hospital. touched the softest grass in town. got honked at a ton! it was sweet. Kaylee chased after a black guy that she thought was super cute. the end |
| | ran 7 miles of the half marathon with JP. next time i'm gonna do the half! it was fun but i felt bad for JP :/ I think she did great and it was good pace throughout. |
| | AM-3 PM- 6, green pole! one of my fav. no matter what Jp and Stoner say :P |
| | AM- 3 PM- 3x(2x200, 1x800) old man hills (8.5 all). 800s are hard! feel like i'm not going fast at all and it's hard to catch up with the group. |
| |
AM- 3 PM- 7, green springs. another fav! start always feels crappy but by the end i feel great! Plyos and weights. yay..
|
| | am- 3, nearly got left but it's all good! pm- 5(ish?). 2 m warm up, 5x800 I pace. (3:12,3:16,3:10,3:10,3:00)-ish. felt good and controlled! Really like it when coach runs with us! Stoner said it looks like he's not running that fast so it makes us feel a bit better.. true. overall it was great! |
| | went on an adventure with JP! started at the Park by the temple so we could pass 'Pilates'. oh memories :) i think we went on every block on every direction possible. We ended up by Dennys, tabernacle, rodeo place, temple, etc... the first few miles were SO long! then we decided to do our tempo (between 7-8 pace..) on mile 4-7ish. it was decent. we had to stop for cars and lights a few times. anywho, we ended up doing barefoot at the park for the last 2 miles and we finished right where JP parked! it was great. We passed a few creepy people and some guys yelled at us and started laughing. punks. we went into a creepy parking lot with creepy vans. but i love that part of town cause there's SO many antique shops and vintage houses! OH! then we ran around the Temple and creepily watched a wedding and it was so cute!! after that we talked about whats to come with our lives. anywho, super cute couple and we were jealous. the end. P.S. super sore, everywhere. |
| | am 3 pm 4- we ran to the double churchs with only one church. (towards green pole). felt fine |
| | am 3- yup.. artic again pm 9 plus 35 min tempo in the fields. started off feeling good but before we started the tempo my stomach hurt really bad but started my tempo anyways and by the time i passed my house (yes, we ran right by my house!!) i really was tempted to quit. but i kept going but felt like puking the whole way around the mountain. i stopped after the mtn and hurt to run even more so i walked and ran through the whole way back to the high school. felt crappy cause i felt like i could keep running but i kept getting sharp pains on my left side. prolly the most lonliest run ever but i made it back and was happy to leave. |
| | am 3- artic pm 5- sandburgs with kaylee, frida, kailee, and later on the rest of the girls!!! Kaylee and i jumped in. so cold but frida sang some swedish song (that'll i'll later learn) that you sing before you do something you don't want to do... after she sang it, kaylee and i jumped in and it was the best feeling ever! we came out freezing but we dried off by the time we got our shoes back on. added a 800 at the end and did a 200 but had to go to cello. fun fun fun.. |
| Race: |
SC all comers (1 Miles) 00:05:54 | | (3AM) umm.. don't know how to fill it out for track..anywho! Pretty excited the whole day for the meet and wasn't stressing too bad until a few minutes before the race. The 1600 was decent. I need to drink more water cause after the first lap my throat was so dry. the third lap was hard and i settled too much. I kept thinking to just quit and not care if people passed me but when it got to the forth lap i got so ticked when cedar passed me at the last 100. so next time i shouldn't even think of wanting to get passed..cause its not a good feeling. the 400 i was excited for mostly because its something way new for me. the heat i was in was luckily full of girls whose never ran the 400 (but one) like me. coach said to stay on my toes and rip through. holy cow. burning sensation? according to JP i demolished the 'wall' at the 200. haha.. it was hard but so fun! pretty good meet to start off the season :)
| | ran with Frida and did a loop that she calculated out with the good ol' google maps (5 mile loop from her house fyi) so it ended up being 6 miles for me. felt good though. caves were tight from the race yesterday but stretched and did some ab work outs after. felt super nice outside. |
| |
spring break and still running at the school! 5 miles out to green springs with da girls. calves were oh so tight on the way but way back felt better (Kaylee was right). did striders (1m), went by fast. steps and plyos.. not so fast. we did the whole set! i'm gonna feel it tomorrow. as of right now i'm enjoying breakfast that I made, yes, i can make breakfast by myself. which is scrambled eggs, toast, and some kind of soup that i didn't make but my mom did. oh i think we saw coachs wife on our run.. i forgot to ask! oh well. p.s. Happy 21st birthday brother! double- played pickleball! does that count as a 3 miler? prolly not but still! it was fun :)
|
| | 4x(2x200, 1x800) on track. 800 times: 3:14, 3:16, 3:12, 3:10. 800s weren't as easy as our last work out on the track. it was hard not to settle but so happy i finished! I was trying to listen to Frida tell Kaylee something about breathing or pain or blah blah blah. i thought she said if your lungs hurt or your having a hard time breathing then just keep your head up and BREATHE then you'll be able to keep running. so i did that and it got me through it cause thats what i was trying to concentrate on. Later i found out she didn't even say that but i learned something about mentality. whatever you put in your mind, thats your results.something like that. pretty good work out though. |
| | 7 miles to green springs loop with 20 min tempo & 6x200. felt good throughout. ran with JP on the tempo. 200s were meh. felt good to be done! Hiked up angels landing with Frida, Stoner, Kaylee, JP, Katie, Alli, and Pete! so fun! i think that counts as our double. some scary stuff for me but happy i did it! felt super good :) | |
| | staheli farm run with Frida again! hard to get up and run but so happy i did! super nice weather, i wished it'd stay like this forever.talked and talked with Frida, always fun to do :) stretched right after and enjoyed the warmth for a while but got super sore when i stood up. the end |
| | ran on tredmills at the rec center and ran around there track 16 times. horrible! even though i watched Harry Potter while i ran, it was still mucho mal! i hate tredmills, last time i'll ever do that. |
| | 3 artic. faster then usual but nice! 7 hospital. went over the hill with Kaylee and Frida, trying to make up for the work out i missed :/. i dread that run but it went by nicely cause we talked and talked and talked. the hill wasn't too bad.. it was terrible. my quads were feelin it but it's all good! striders (1 mi) |
| | 3 miles artic. had solo ensemble and zonked out when i got home.. |
| | 3 miles artic. same same 5 miles with 6x200. added 2 more thinking it'll make up for the 2 works out i missed this week.. :/. Ran with Kailee G. super fun! |
| | 3 artic work out! ahh. 10 freakin 400s!! who would've thought.. well coach did. it went by fast though. pretty consistent. in between 1:30-1:35. last one was a 1:26. felt throw up sick after though. hope i'm not getting sick like the rest of the familia here. |
| | just got done having a fever over the break. worse work out ever. never felt so light headed before. the sun didn't help much either. practically shunned by coach, probably deserve it though. never again will i run 800s that terrible. (6x800) |
| | AM-3 artic. felt good! PM- 10x400, DI warm/ Harts cool. Felt consistent and amazing! happy that coach didn't shun me this time. after i finished, i felt like i still had some energy in me, it was crazy. i felt like i pushed hard but i wasn't dying.. is that bad? i was closer to the V girls then i've ever been so it made me feel like i could push harder. I feel like i'm not pushing myself as hard as i should be. i need get rid of this stupid mind set that i cant get any better or run faster. overall today was a great work out and it made the rest of my day good too :) | |
| | AM- 3 PM-5+ 4x200 storage units. ran with Roberts!! felt good to run faster. my right achilles tendon had sharp pains like someone was stabbing a needle in it (yes, i googled it!). so i iced it and hope it doesn't bother me! |
| | am-3 pm- raced 1600 (6:05 bleh), 400 (1:12ish), 3200 (uh.. maybe low 12s or 13). so cold in cedar. 16 was a bummer. there's a lot of things i should've done. 400 hurt, the wall was demolished and it didn't feel all that great. worked on my turn over, coach said i don't have that much power... better hit the gym! 32 (started snowing) felt focused! if coach didn't yell at me to pass the girls i would've settled and gotten a worse time. pretty bummed when i heard my time cause i thought i did pretty good. happy i raced with the cedar girls, i needed that challange. i gotta start running faster! |
| | Ran on the tredmil in the basement of my friends house in Georgia. worst.idea.ever. sweated a pool! tredmils are bad enough but the humidty? eww. i could almost grab the air. felt like throwing up, bleh. Did some ab workouts after but couldn't stand how sweaty i was so we jumped in a pool. but not the pool i sweated, an actual pool. felt nice. |
| |
First day back since my too long of a break. Ran with JP to green post(ish) and back. Felt like heaven... not! it was terrible but it was expected so i guess i'll deal with the 2 weeks of heck. glad to be back though!
|
| | 3 up to dirt road then add on at the school. Kaylee had me talking the whole time on the way up. I guess it helped but i was out of breath by the end. tried concentrating on running more on my toes instead of the heels.kids camp was fun. all the girls are cute. can't wait to see the top 6-8 grade girls run xc! | |
| | 4 miles out to grapevine.. i think thats what its called. Ran with nicole and it was nice. |
| | coral canyon! how much i love that run. The hill wasn't too shabby but when Roberts and i discussed this we concluded that it was because stoner wasn't there. She runs faster on hills than flat ground! there's many witnesses. Anywho, still trying to recover from being sick so i had a sore throat but my running felt pretty good. Nice breeze, it was quite enjoyable. It was fun catching up with Megan. she's fun to talk to! After running had to go straight home to get ready to drive with the instructor (mikey so generiously took me home) then my dad forgot about me so i walked to the running center to chill with Tyson. Tysons pretty good at selling shoes, he even brought out some shoes for me to try.. even though i didn't want to try any on. Then babysat til 10! it was such a busy but not busy day. I know that wasn't much about running but this is a blog right? ya.. |
| | JP actually asked if i wanted to run with her! i feel very honored because usually i have to convince her to run with me. I must've done something right, just kidding.. i was prolly the only person left to run with her. Anyways.. we ran out around the fields and talked and talked. Ran back to mi casa, got some water, then talked for like another hour on my porch. If it wasn't for my dad telling me to go garden, we probably still be talking. If you want someone fun to talk to about weird stories that don't happen to normal people, JP's the person to go to :) | |
| | maverick witha kaylee boyer! told her stories until i was out of breath, literally. Kaylee's the best to tell stories and get insights in return. gonna miss her tons! felt pretty good except for being so out of breath but its all good, i'm still alive! |
| |
This is DOS of JP and I's amazing get-together-even-if-its-late-and-we-could-get-kid-napped-run!!! This time we changed it up and ran around JP's. It was dark, like dark dark. If you've never been out to the creepy part of green springs then your not missing out! don't even worry. It's oh so dark and scary. As we were running out towards fire station (but not we turned into the creepy apartment gang neighborhood) i was explaining my feelings to jp about this terrible idea of a run. while she was telling me about how much she loves doing things in the dark, i heard something behind me and i found a man running towards us! probably screamed a bit, who knows, i was terrified-ish. He caught up to us and started talking but we missed half the things he was saying because he kept talking to the vehicles parked on the side of the road. Being expert running's that JP and I are, we figured he's not an actual runner because one, was wearing casual clothes, two, wasn't wearing running shoes, three, asked if we liked jogging at night.. we don't jog!, four, i could've sworn we saw him at the gas station where we used the rest room. As observant as we were, we still talked for a bit. he asked where we lived and what school we went to so mind as well we tell him our phone numbers too. He was actually pretty good looking and prolly my brothers age so it wasn't too terrifying but still.. he was really random. JP will prolly give a better story than me so check out hers next! :) I felt great on the run! It feels nice to run at night cause its so breezy and i could use up the rest of my energy for the day. fun stuff!! talked to JP about so much and it's always so so so fun!
|
| | through Grapevine to sketchy house. the whole way up was hard and felt like puking but went by fast. The way down was faster and at first felt good but by the time i got to maverick i was ready to be done. my body was really tense and was hard to loosen up but was so happy when i got back. Rachel and i shoved chocolate milk, oranges, and apple juice down our throats but that was a bad idea.. feel a bit dehydrated today. | |
| | warm up, grass run, striders. bleh bleh bleh. terrible side cramp when striders came around. then stoner told me to pray cause that always works... kinda scoffed it but tried it and hallelujah! praise the Lord! it works :) anyways, just tired from yesterdays 6 but glad i'm sticking up with the girls more and more. | |
| | Green Springs trail run, I'm just happy its over. | |
| |
ran around 9pm with my desert hills xc buddy. went hiking up at zions during the day so i hope that kinda counts.. :) was feeling a bit stiff today.
|
| | So happy MaRee and her sister Mia (wow! i have a mia friend!) are gonna be coming out to cross! MaRee's even looking forward to camp! yay :) anywho, today we ran 5 miles into hell hole... then coach surprised us with 8x 10 sec bounders up the hill. actually wasn't too shabby. felt like Mario doing the bounders, but who doesn't want to feel like Mario? it's a great way to start your day. Pretty exhausted when i got back though, i'm thinking i need to eat less junk and more good stuff. prolly will help my running tons. | |
| | Went to kids camp, fun fun fun. Ran with JP around 7ish but felt horrible cause i ate right before i ran. bleh, so stiff and sweaty and gross. went bowling after with jp, stoner, mikey, janz, and zack. then played frisbee, soccer, and leap frog in the dark at the golf course! so fun. |
| |
Best Run EVER! so here's the story.. we (as in me, Jp, and Stoner) dropped off Jp's truck at the old movie theater to get a good seat for the fireworks and ran back to Jp's. holy funny. We got an ab work out. It was great pace, not slow but more on the faster side. We went through middleton and just had to stop at the park cause they had swings! If you haven't noticed, they don't have swings at any other park here in saint geezy. they had the coolest talk-into-weird-box-thing-and-it'll-talk-back. it sounded like something on a horror movie hahah. THEN we saw a bunny, a white bunny, a very trippy bunny. It looked real then fake then real again.. then Jp said what if it was real?? then the bunny moved!! and we all screamed. Jp's reaction was the best though. anywho, the run was quit amazing. we ran around the golf course cause the sprinklers were going. The breeze felt so amazing. perfect weather. Everything was just great!! we even pushed each other in a cart! that was great too. I wanted to take it back or hide it somewhere but we just left it by a stop sign. hope the hobo doesn't come hunt us down for stealing his cart!! Oh! I even yelled at the others to stretch with me after :) it was just dandy! The End.
|
| |
warm up, stoner and i were on a roll! kept reminding each other 'toes!' ran "2.8" before the grass run. Got to run with coach and that was fun! Stoner and i agreed that we like it when coach runs with us, especially on work outs! but anywho, felt a lot better compared to last week. Noticed that i wasn't breathing hard anymore. Striders after grass and that was ten times better than last week. i'm finally getting back into shape!! Tomorrow i'm going to park city so hopefully i'll go running with my aunt :) she's pretty wicked sweet.
| |
| | came home from SLC and got jp, stoner, and kaylee to meet up and run. Ran in the sand and felt gross. hate traveling for the fact that you snack a ton. started feeling a bit better the more i got into the run, but my legs started to get really tight and my shins hurt so i was happy to be done when we finished. It felt so muggy that it just added on to my pitiful run. But the girls were funny so i just listened to them or dazed off so that was good. |
| | out to middleton. haven't been feeling all good. my parents have been forcing me to eat more but its making me feel sick. hopefully my body will adjust fast. | |
| | Ran 4 on dirt trail. Kaylee came and was so so happy! Started off a bit sore and tired but the more i got into the run the better it got. Kaeliee G is doing oh so good! She's gonna be rockin it this season. |
| | did my double in the morning so i can run with JP later. felt pretty good, focused on my form while running on the hills. |
| | 2 on road, 2 on grass, then striders. felt dandy. Taylor stuck up with us too!
|
| | met up at the marathon finish and ran out towards santa clara. ran with Roberts and Kaylee.. i mean Carly ;). felt decent but didn't let it get to my head. Roberts and Kaylee were pretty good at distracting me from thinking it anyways. made a pinky promise that Kaylee and I will go to Dutchmans and get a pink sugar cookie and brownie :) reanacted another ' I'm catholic' with roberts. too bad JP wasn't there. anywho, good day~ |
| | Ran out to dog pound with JP. met kaylee part way but she didn't want to run with us. rude. But we realized we'll at least see her 4 times during xc season. anywho, breezy and nice :) |
| |
6 out to the fields. Ran with the girls, no show from Roberts, naughty naughty. Girls are doing amazing! can't wait for camp but as of now i'll be going kayaking and girls camping for the next few days.. hope i can get a run in during that time! PM- 3 miles out with myself. ran in the rain for a bit then the weather got bipolar. concentrated on just running on my toes which made the run go a lot faster.. or i was just running that much faster :) haha... anywho, rewarded with some sweet pain and a lot of sweat.
| |
| | ran to summit with JP and Stoner and it sucked on the way back and i hurt and i whimped out so ran home instead of running 8. bleh bleh bleh. but stretched a ton so i wouldn't psych myself into a injury then did P90X with the girls! fun fun fun. |
| | AM: 4 miles. then went home to pack for XC camp!!! woooooo PM: 4 miles out on the long road... Wasn't too shabby but my tummy hurt. Set up camp and got super excited to whats to come! rode up with Coach Holt and that was a blast! talked and talked and talked.. i forget what we talked about but it was just dandy.
|
| | AM: 9 miles out to the canyons-ish. the boys weren't kind enough to mark it for us but i'm sure we went a bit over. I felt great on the way up and it was all good but started to feel crappy on the way back.. the altitude was getting to me. The sky looked like it was getting smaller and all that but i made it back and just drank some gatorade and i was revived. PM: 3 miles out on the road again. the day was great though!
|
| | AM: 5 miles up the hills! was looking forward to what was gonna happen... JP and I stuck together and our breathing wasn't doing us good but it felt great making it up the hill. Then the way back was just a party. Worked on our form from what we learned in class! props to coaches. We saw a deer and i shot an imaginary arrow and it died. PM: 3 miles and had a crazy idea to run with the guys. why? it was a crazy idea. It wasn't too shabby until coach tried to throw me into the mud puddle cause my shoes weren't tied. i mean, my shoes always get untied but i've never tripped over them. talent if you ask me :) So anyways after that incident, coach had to push me up to the girls so i could keep up. After the hill it was like i got a burst of energy (kinda) and so i made it back. crazy right? i thought so too. I was pretty darn tired afterwards. I did play 11 games of volleyball with my awesome team! Realized by the end that i was the only girl on the court. yaya, it's okay to be jealous :)
| |
| | Ran our last 4 and it was shabby, crappy, icky. My breathing was the worst out of all the days! but we cleaned up camp and it's crazy to think that its JP and Stoner's last year! Bitter sweet moment. | |
| | out to hospital (plus running around lowes) with 2 mile tempo at the end. Felt decent but was hard to breathe and my legs were dead. Felt nice to stay up with JP and Stoner on our tempo. no regrets! except we sweat a ton! | |
| | Ran in the heat of the day with Stoner and JP so we jumped in the river and rolled around a bit then made it to sandburgs and jumped in not only once.. but three times! yup, it was one of those chill runs for the week. Felt pretty exhausted but looking forward to this season! |
| |
Ran half way with Roberts and that's always fun! Ran the rest of Grape vine by myself and i didn't get lost... props to me self. Felt decent, all the junk i ate while my parents were away was getting to me, so hopefully i can get back into the healthy eating habit. PM: 3 miles plus weights and plyos. so excited. i'm gonna be buff! not.
| |
| |
AM: 4 miles on dirt, felt nice. Wore my new Mizuno Elixar's and my right foot started heating up and felt swollen but Roberts said their just adjusting so no biggie! hopefully... Striders after the dirt and those weren't too shabby except i realized how much sorer (if that's even a word!) i am from plyos yesterday. i could barely play misssionary tag with the girls! it was more like rolling around to the next spot before getting tagged. pathetic, i know. PM: 3 miles out to double churches (from mi casa) with Stoner and JP. waited forever but danced in the rain until it was all gone. run felt nice but my foot still did the weird numb feeling even though i was wearing the brookes. Stoner said that it's prolly my foot.. i didn't even think of that cause i was too busy blaming the shoes.
|
| |
AM: Hell Hole hills 4x1 min, 5x 30 sec. not too shabby! felt sore at first but the more we got into it, i just forgot about my soreness. It was more about pushing up the hill and keep pushing over the hill. Got me thinking about state and all the other races with hills. can't wait! Stoner got me going when she started off by saying 'let's go mia'. You can't turn down an invitation, even if she kills the hills. It felt nice getting back into work outs though :) PM: 3 miles out to the river with JP and Stoner. but before we even got to running, we kinda creeped on Kaylee and helped her out, in a way :) anyways, we ran to the river and cause it was flooded the current was pretty strong. And the water looked like chocolate milk. seriously, you can't even see a outline of your body when you get in. you actually can't even see anything! thrilling right? ya, exactly what stoner and jp took it as. so we did some childish stuff and messed around. On our way back we found a wounded bird and took it to stoners house to nurse back to life. 10 min after jp and i left, we got a text of the memorial service of our poor birdy named Luck.
| |
| |
3 miles? what?! plus striders. good run, nice and relaxed. thanks coach! pm: 3 miles plus weights and plyos. hot hot hot. sweaty sweaty sweaty.
|
| |
am: hills 3x30sec, 5x1min then 3ish on grass. Hill work out was pretty good. practiced controlling my breathing and the grass felt nice. right calve got tight but will just need to stretch more. Not to sore from yesterdays plyos. actually think it helped me get over monday's plyos. pm: 3 miles church to river again with JP and Stoner but before we got together we watched the womens 10K!!! holy cow. EPIC. Dibaba is out of this world. That's pretty much all we talked about for the rest of the run. yup, inspiration.
| |
| | starting at 10am.. JP and i started our run out to chevron! It was actually really great! It wasn't too hot and there was a cool breeze too. We found a sprinkler so we drenched ourselves and at chevron we poured water on ourselves so we could have a good tempo, which turned out alright! it was mostly down hill but it just made us go that much faster when it got flat. after our tempo we chilled at the river for a while. I think that's our new favorite place. So lucky to live so close to it!! anyways, run was very good! :) |
| |
5 out to green pole! fun fun fun. 3 and plyos! sweaty sweaty sweaty.
|
| |
dirt run and last kids camp this summer! pace on dirt was 8:10ish.. felt fine. petted a dog after begging stoner. it was a cute dog! anywho, kids camp was just dandy. those kids are darling! afternoon run!

Here i am at a cafe in six flags! writing about my run... i went running with my brother and also did striders! props to myself and my bro. It's been great in Cali if you were wondering. the end.
| |
| | sorry coach! Running in california requires a guardian of some sort (that's only if i don't want to get stolen) and my brother got pretty sore after our first run together. But i still worked out! I went river rafting, walked a ton at magic moutain, boogie board, walked around a HUGE outlet mall, swam and learned how to dive (i know, pretty embaressing that i never learned until now) and did AB RIPPER X (still sore). BUT when Kenny and i did go running, It was a hilly run out in the 100+ heat so i'm surprised i survived through that. Not the best running week but no worries, school starts and won't have anymore vacations for a long time! |
| |
supposibly 9 but as JP and i were strolling along and waiting to see our turn around.. it just never came! until we finally saw the guys and they freaked out and told us to turn around. They said the wrote it.. but it was in black. To bad the ground is black too. Anywho, had fun running with JP though! we talked and talked. the way back felt much much better. I'm always surpirsed when i actually finish a long run. When i start i feel like it'll be never ending, but i realize at the end there has to be an end! life lesson for you. legs felt bearable but now are just exhausted. stretch and ice bath sounds great. afternoon run! plus plyos
|
| |
6x1000 plus harts warm/cool. 3:45, :45, :46, :50, :55, :52. breathing wasn't all that great but first real work out of the season! Hoping i'll start to like coaches new theory. Legs are tired.. really wanting an ice bath. (7.25) 3 with myself and the blazing sun. Told my mom that if i wasn't back in 30 minutes.. she needed to come find my dead body. Oh so so so hot!
|
| |
3x2min w/ 1 min rec, 4x400 w/ 30 sec rec plus Harts warm/cool. Rachel told me this story yesterday and i kept repeating it in my head. You can ask her what the story was cause i don't feel like typing it but point of the story was saying 'I can, I can, I can' to yourself over and over. So i did, and i think it got my mind off of a lot of negative things that could've been on my mind. Oh but legs, way tired. ice bath tomorrow? 3 miles out in the heat. Where was this heat when i wanted it?! goodness. Gonna be back in the routine tomorrow with the morning pracitces and drinking, drinking, drinking, drinking.. water!
| |
| | 4 morning, 3 afternoon plus striders. I felt better in the morning but my legs are exhausted. claves were super tight throughout the whole afternoon run so gonna be doing a lot of stretching and roberts told me to remember to roll out. I remembered! that's a start. anywho, wasn't a big fan of today. OH! and my third toe is officially bruised with a blister. nasty! my brooks are doing something funky to my feet i guess.. |
| | AM: 3 miles plus 4x200. tried hard keeping up with stoner on the 400s. did decent. PM: 3 miles green springs. hot hot hot. legs are still tight but rolled them out afterwards. |
| Race: |
Hurricane Invite (3 Miles) 00:20:19, Place overall: 5 | | first race of the season for me! Thought it was pretty decent way to start off. The race was fun, mostly dirt and road. First lap is always the worst but got myself into a groove and felt good! Proud that i kept Stoner in my sight throughout the whole race. Now that i know that i can do that, mind as well stick up with her right? So happy to see Kaylee, Rachel, Liz, and Abby supporting us! that was plus. but anyways, my legs felt fine, my breathing was manly cause i had a sore throat (but didn't bother me during the race) and i still need to improve my sprint at the end.. bleh. Only negative from the race that i'll take out of it is i got sick.. so hopefully i'll get better by mondays work out. |
| |
Work out 5:45 AM? who knew? well JP didn't. sorry girl! anywho, 6x 3min w/ 3min rec. pizza hut warm and cool (6 miles total). Hard work out but i'm feeling good! Staying up with JP and Stoner just gives me the giddys. hahaha, k no. Just makes me feel more confident. I gotta keep sticking up with them on every work out. My last one was a bleh just cause it was bleh. but! I know i can stick up with them, so i shall! PM: it's just great having work outs in the mornings :) blessed coach. We ran sandburgs (3 mi) woooo!! jumped in, jumped out. worked out. plyoed.. out! OH! CODE... white gal run today. da best. or stoner calls it pribe? i think.. it was just dandy!!
| |
| |
AM: 4 miles with stoner and Jp. nice and easy. except when Martha pushed the pace. darn her. PM: 8 miles total. 4.5ish warm up, 2 mile time trial and harts cool. did a lot of running today.. my legs are begging for mercy. time trial was bleh. i can do better but as of today, my mind was blocked with the thought of how tired i was. better sleep really! I need to keep getting closer to stoner.. not farther. bad bad bad. anywho, like what pete always says, i need to work on my mental toughness. maybe get a new brain, that'd be nice. |
| | AM: 5 miles with 1/2mi fartleks. (its) RAINING (men...) HALLELUJAH! (that's a funny song) anyways, felt so so so so nice! It felt really good running fast but not breathing hard. I felt pain in my legs but it was the sweet pain, the pain you want more of. I really enjoyed todays work out other than afterwards realizing that everything is still wet.. PM: 3 miles out towards artic but psych you out and go towards harts. It was fun cause it was still raining! glorious rain! summer rain is just the best. I felt so good, i just wanted to keep running after the 3 was over. Went to work after and was in a really good mood surprisingly! probably surprised the old folks too. (i'm not a grouch, i promise!) | |
| | am- 4 miles pm- 3 miles w/ striders. felt really tight. |
| | am: 3 miles plus 200's. gotta work on my sprints! pm: 3 miles. hot hot hot, too spoiled by the rain. |
| Race: |
SUU Invitational (3 Miles) 00:20:17, Place overall: 9 | | SUU today! saw Cam Levins, almost got an autograph... but we'll catch him later :) Had a false start at the beginning and had a hard time calming myself down afterwards. But the race started finally and we ran many loops. The "incline" stretch was probably the worst part. It hurt and was slow. I think us girls didn't start all that great because i should've been way up there, closer to deseret hills! But i felt strong throughout the middle and when the end came i felt nothing in my system and it was hard. The cedar girl that i tried to get away from all last year was in front of me and that ticked me off. so hopefully next race I'll remember how ticked off i was about having cedar in front of me. It was great being close to JP! i'm just gonna have to trust it more and stick up with them from the start! lots and lots of work to do. Stoner, JP and I had lunch over this discussion so hopefully we can do better with bonding with the other girls. Hopefully that'll help our gap. So anyways, i got a free shirt, saw Kaylee and Tyson and went to Cafe Rio.. it was a good day.
| | AM: 6x1000 (3:35,30,36,40,40,29) w/ 3 min rec and pizza hut warm/cool. woo.. glad that we do those in the mornings! other than tripping over every little rock that we can't see. Felt good sticking up with Stoner and JP for the first few and then getting behind cause i freaked out about my breathing. But coach gave a lot of little lectures about overcoming fear and pushing hard until you puke...so pretty much, i don't get to quit until i puke. anyways, the last two i redeemed myself by sticking up with stoner (but then loosing her at the freakin hill, dang it) and on the last one i couldn't let it go without pushing harder. freakin JP killed the last one! 3:17?!?!? holy moly. new goal, stick with JP and then i'll puke. anyways, pretty good work out. i know i can stick it up with stoner and jp more than i did today. It's great having two coaches run with us. Us girls discussed this in the locker room about how coach is breathing just fine while we do our 1000 then there's us breathing like we're drowning. it's great. makes me laugh. PM: 3 miles out to everywhere... through sandstone, movie theater.. little G's house. it was great, on the way back. BUT! before the run, i had a surprising visitor in my shoe. SO here's the story. I went outside shoeless with Stoner and decided to plot myself down on the sidewalk. Mike was yelling at me to get my shoes on so i hurried.. and as i put on my left shoe (yes coach, i got my left shoe on.) i felt something in there so i took it off and stuck my hand in there to get what i thought would be a leaf... but it wasn't! instead it was a HUGE (i mean like 3-5 inches) cockroach!!! I screamed and threw that nasty thing into the fence but the saddest thing was that i didn't get to kill it! Poor thing, now it has to live knowing that it's the most hideous thing I've ever touched. gross. | |
| | AM: 4 miles and guess who came?! Kayla Webby :) so so happy. now it's alise's turn! PM: 5 miles with striders. dang hot. sandburgs with a layer of poop was very disappointing. | |
| | AM: 3x2min w/ 1 min rec + 4x400 w/ 30 sec rec. (4.5mi) stuck as a pack. it felt nice. until i went into the locker room and found that my toe is getting more raw. gross. ew. but it's okay. i don't feel like doing anything for it. PM: 3 miles out to hot nails. theres a new place right by it called "finacial security". ya, that doesn't really go for a three mile name. Megan and i discussed this. anywho, we splashed water on each other but were dry before we even it the sun! holy hot. BUT while i was at work, i looked out the window and what did i see? (popcorn popping out the the apricote tree...NOT) RAIN! so sad i didn't get to run through it :( i got to enjoy it in a old folks point a view. very depressing. |
| | am: 3 miles plus striders. striders in the morning? It's almost as good as a mango smoothie from emrold city. btw JP, we needa go by and tell him about soccer ;) pm: 4 miles. it was hot but probably the best run! Roberts, Stoner and i were no stop talking from the turn around and back. We talked of kids, how many stoner and i want, roberts adorable daughters, kids attitudes, memories, etc. it was great! it went by so smoothly and fast i loved it! One of those runs that you don't notice your running.. anyways, my toe nail needs to hurry and come off. Plyos didn't help it from healing though. oh well. | |
| | before i forget. ran 3 in the morning, 9 with 30 min tempo 7:30 pace. we finished exactly at 4 miles, pretty crazy. and ran 2 miles on the track for the run a thon and did our 4x200s. we really wanted to run 15 before midnight! anyways, i'm tired, and my legs and died. run a thon was different but pretty fun. |
| |
the rest of the run a thon. 2 miles on track and 3x400s. so dead. ROBERTS! I hope you'll be happy to hear that Kaylee and I fulfilled our promise! We texted cha cha and found the delicious dutchmans market and now it is on my top 2 favorite gas stations! (the other is Harts) thanks roberts!

AM: labor day work out on the track, how nice. warm up, Pizza warm/cool, 4x1mile T pace w/ .25 rec (not 25 second recovery...). supposed to hit between 6:50-7:00. we hit 6:28, :44, :52, :29. It was a pretty strong work out. Breathing got hard at the end but JP was a good leader. Coach told me to lead at one point so i attempted but i guess it suggested that JP would push the last 400 even harder hahaha.. i'll just let her lead. Aubrey kept with us on her last one and that was amazing! It felt good pacing her, i loved it! Taylor did way good too, she hit all her times! The last one was hard espcially when i'm running with someone who becomes a demon on the track but she pushed me hard! happy day. We did plyos and didn't skip anything even though we were quite dead.
| |
| |
AM: 4 miles. left leg felt like was dragging. stretch baby stretch! PM: 6x1000 w/ warm/cool (6.5mi) at the bloomington hills park. bleh. long grass, hard breathing, tired, not a good combo. not one of the best work outs. our times were in the 4's. not a big fan. hopefully i won't feel like that at murray! The boys and girls raced hard yesterday! noticed how small our girls JV team was so i recruited a few girls hopefully! Boys did awesome! that was intense.. stoner and i screamed hard at them so they better have heard us.
|
| |
AM: late again.. but ran 3 miles w/ striders. felt tired but my striders felt good and fast! PM: 3 out to hot nails after a long argument. but made a deal with stoner that we'll jump into sandburgs tomorrow.. haha. Had craps and pains throughout my whole body during the run, hopefully they'll go away soon! Weights and plyos afterwards. I've been thinking that i really need to become more serious about these because i need more power in these limbs of mine.
| |
| |
AM: 3 miles w/ 4x200's. Alise came!! wooooo :) PM: 3 miles out to sandburgs. oh my gosh. the exact words i said before my heart attack. After a splendid dip into sandburgs, we were getting our shoes on and all the sudden Taylor was like, the guys are coming! and click, I grabbed my shirt and booked it out of there. Stoner and everyone else were normal and got there shirts on easily but my stupid shirt was being complicated and i was scared out of my pants that i kept shaking. i stopped behind a bush (kinda) and tried getting it on with stoner yelling at me but had to have assistance from aubrey... I didn't stop shaking until we got out of sandburgs. never again, am i gonna take my time getting my shoes on. ever. I'm so sorry to any of the boys that saw the whiteness of a molly mormon.. ha. oh and vegan dinner tonight.. thought they were hamburgers but ended up being beans..bleh.... don't tell my mom!

Murray Invite (3.1 Miles) 00:20:45, Place overall: 60
AM: 3 miles PM: ran the state course (3 mi) and learned how to partner stretch and got rolled out. Race: Murray! the only part of the course i knew was the start where i go up the small hill and after that it was a mystery! Got out pretty good, followed Stoner and elbowed people for the first mile. The snake hill was way dusty and people in front of me were stopping which reminded me of footlocker.. they were in the way! but after that it felt good and there was a lot of passing but people passing me too... there were just a lot of people! The last mile i got sight of JP and caught up with her but by then i was antsy to finish but had no idea when i was going to finish. That made me super mad so when the finish came i kinda gave up cause mentally i was just mad that no one told me when i was going to finish. Wish i had a better finish so next race my only goal is to have a finish that i'll be happy about. Positives out of this race- wasn't so clammy before the race and was way excited to race. The first 2 miles were pretty strong and glad i was able to run with JP for a while and help her out too. We closed our gap on Cedar and Liz, Taylor, Aubree, and Kaelie did super good! they were pretty grouped together. Anyways, we finished with getting 10th. It was pretty cool seeing some interesting people.. The way up and way down was just a party cause all we do is sing sing sing!

AM:
4x30secF w/1 min rec (track) +3x800I w/2min rec+3x1000T w/1 min rec (track) w/Pizza warm/cool. (finally figured to just copy and paste!) oh golly. my caves have never felt this tight in my entire life. I started singing hymns during the cool because they were crying out to me. Anyways, work out.. started out feeling like this is gonna be the best! but by the last 1000 coach gave us a speach on how we need to believe. If we already look tired and beat, inside we're pretty much destroyed.. yah, it was a hard hard work out. Some hard breathing was going on in my lungs. on my last 1000 coach literally pushed me and it felt good. I felt my legs just taking over because mentally, i didn't have to do anything, coach was just pushing me. i realized the only thing that was stopping me from going faster was my mind. dumb mind. But thanks coach! Realization that it doesn't hurt as bad if you run faster.. plus you finish faster. Sorry if it doesn't make sense, but it does in my head! Needing some time of stretching, rolling, ice bathing. PM: 3 miles snail pace. My body ached but we (as in JP, Stoner, Liz and me) couldn't stop laughing at the littlest things. like me mistaking a woman as a man and i laughed really obnoxiously cause running and laughing don't mesh well. afterwards we cheered on the boys and girls doing their work out. I cheered on the guys and they didn't acknowledge my compliments. except for Nick, but only cause he's my favorite and Jake too. So after that we creeped on coach during his meetings and drew all over the board and got laughed at by coach Shaw because of my ugly green toe. And JP got laughed at by Dicky cause of her weird jumping. But anyways, today was a good day. It's still only 2 pm! what to do.. well anyways, the end!
| |
| |
am: 3 miles plus striders. striders felt great. pm: DI warm, 2 mile time trial, Harts cool, 5x stadium hill sprints. Tight from yesterday but didn't feel it during the time trial. Tried controlling my breathing, that's what freaks me out the most, when my breathing isn't calm my mind goes to panic mode sometimes.. But first lap felt good sticking up with Stoner but settled... oops! plus i kept slipping in the mud..but beat my last time, thats always good. (13:46) hill sprints weren't bad at all. but now i need to stretch and roll.
|
| | AM: 4 miles. some tight caves on the way but felt pretty good on the way back. Actually stretched instead of just jumping in the shower. PM: 3 miles hot nails. some man came out from the 'financial security' and asked us if we wanted some water. i said no but stoner wanted some so she followed him inside.. then i thought that i prolly should've gone in with her. Sorry Stoner, next time i'll do better. But luckily she came out just the same but with a nice refreshing water bottle. anyways, felt good on the run, not really tight. I raced another guy across the street, he was booking it but i could've beat him if it wasn't for the light. lame. anyways, Weights and Plyos. Did them all and actually wanted to put 100 percent in them. Partner stretched with Stoner and we felt loosey goosey afterwards. |
| | AM: 3 miles plus 4x200's. Saw a UFO! just kidding.. it was a penny drop from heaven. just kidding.. it was a missal (sp?) pretty cool! the cheerleaders cracked us up. They wanted a better view and so they ran to the top of the stadium.. pretty sure the view doesn't change cause its in the sky. PM: 3 miles sandburgs! felt so good. I liked our pace, we went pretty quick. we jumped in and out of sandburgs cause of our fear of the boys. legs are crying for a good long stretch tonight! excited for tomorrow! |
| Race: |
Herriman Invite (3 Miles) 00:22:36, Place overall: 14 | | AM: 3 miles of hyperness. PM: traveled up with coach holt! he actually let us ride with him :) fun stuff. Ran at the state course (3) and [I] found a iphone! that was legit, but Devin was not. ate food then went to Herriman. They told us it'd be the funniest hardest race ever. Pretty much described it. All dirt course with big hills including 'Mutha Cussa'. I didn't realize what it was until i started running up it. which killed every muscle in my body. so the race.. My start wasn't all that good. I fell behind stoner and jp quite a bit so my whole second lap i was trying to catch up to them. They were in sight all the way until the mutha cussa than my race ended mentally. So next goal for Nebo is to stick with JP and Stoner from the start so i wont have to do this dumb catching up thing cause i doesn't work all that often. Pretty bummed after the race but then i got a cool shirt for getting 14 so i was happy. Positives were my second lap felt really strong and i felt mentally and physically strong and i was catching up with courtney. last part beat me down but its all good. prepare myself for nebo!! The sweet Trinnamins gave us grapes which were amazing as usual! As a team we got 3rd! so did the boys! that was legit. Dinner was good, ride home was mumbly. but coach was fun to talk to. The trip overall was super fun and i think i wouldn't mind racing that again next year!
| | 7 miles out with my besties JP and Stoner. Ran to the new development "The Stucki Farms". There gonna be building a ton of 'villages' and lakes! supah cool. anyways, legs were tight and hurting but it was still a nice run. And hard last mile which was pretty hard. the weather was so amazing! it's ridiculous. they should have it this cool all the time. did some ab workouts with P90X. life is good. |
| | AM: 3 miles plus 2 miles Indian run. we're pretty weird. 4x200's on the track, hard keeping up with JP and Stoner... bleh. PM: 3 miles plus 4xstadium hills and 4x100 sprints with equal recovery but soccer jog. weights and plyos after. legs were burning by the end of sprints so i barely got through the rest. I'm liking these quick runs, i need to find my 'inner kick'. ha ha | |
| | AM: 3 miles and striders. baseball field was so wet our feet got so so cold! but other than that it was great. PM: 3 miles hot nails. good stuff except how sore my legs are. partner stretched with Stoner while we watched the boys do Michigans. |
| | AM: Michigan w/ 1 miles warm/cool. woo... i don't know why we get nervous for these.. maybe because it has a name but it was pretty good overall. The first set i was able to stick it with Stoner and JP but when we got on the track i didn't think i could stick with anymore and so the gap started to grow. biggest regret because as i started the next set i felt fine, and i was mad i made such a big gap. I pushed the next 800's and tried to close the gap but they were cruisin. Next time though, i gotta remember that the hardest part will end and it is easier to run as a tight knit. Finished it strong with a 29:39ish so I got a freakin A standard! check that off my short term goals. PM: 3 miles and 2x400's (equal recovery). Weights and Plyos. We ran out to 2450 but made up a run on the trail where Tyson dislocated his ankle so that was different. pretty good run except it was just hot outside. Weights.. barely could hold the bar with my shaky arms and plyos are just tiring. but we finished them! | |
| Race: |
Nebo Invitational (3.25 Miles) 00:21:09, Place overall: 25 | | AM: 3 PM: drove up to Nebo. pretty flat course, grass except for the bits of concrete and track. Cut off Stoner at the start and made JP trip over her... felt pretty bad but we restarted. Forgave each other (at least that's what stoner said..bitterly) then raced. kept up with JP and Stoner for maybe a mile plus so that part was good but started falling back. ended up finishing a minute behind them. Not exactly where i want to be but goal is to just stick with Courtney. I really want to improve at Cedar so there's a lot of nervous thoughts going through me. Our team ended with getting 4th! that was great! the girls did great and closed that gap way good! |
| | 3x(2minH+1minE, 1minH+30secE, 30secH+30secE) w/2.5warm 3cool at sugar house park. Legs were tired and had a harder time keeping up but it was a good work out. Ran back to Wasatch to watch the JV's race. It was great! JP and I got dropped off in Cedar and we were able to spend the weekend at Kaylees apartment! It was just a blast but we got some inspiration while we were there. We were talking to both Kaylee and Tyson about their work outs and runs... they are extreme! But it got JP and I thinking that we really need to push our normal easy runs a bit. I think it'd help if we took them a bit more seriously and pushed the pace so we're not going 10 min pace or something. But anyways, Kaylee was just great! miss her tons but happy to be able to spend time with her :) |
| | AM:
4x30secF w/1 min rec+3x800I w/2min rec+2x1000T w/1 min rec w/Pizza warm/cool. woooo... The 800's hurt, they were hard. 1000's were good. It felt good to be helping pushing someone along. It got my mind off of myself and about the work out. I think sometimes i just freak myself out about the run. Anyways, last 1000 JP, Stoner, and I ended up doing our own little Indian runs. I was so happy that i kept up with them throughout the whole thing and was able to finish with them! I felt great, better than last week. So ended happy. PM: 3 miles E + 4xstadium hill sprints + 4x100F. Pushed our 3 miles which felt good and the staduim hills were fine until i almost got elbowed in the face by one of the twins. chain reaction to almost killing taylor boyer! So pretty much don't start behind someone with swinging elbows. Weights and Plyos after. My whole body was just shaking! I think i'm getting weaker in the weight room. i can barely bench the bar without almost dropping it on my face. anyways.. still did them. |
| | AM: 3 miles. tired. plus striders, felt strong. PM: 3 miles hot nails. pace was a bit faster but felt good. inside of quads are super sore and caves need some rolling out. So pretty much my body is tired. Stoner tripped on some rocks and i felt bad. she's been very clumsy lately... poor girl. or maybe its just me tripping her, oops! watched the boys do michigans on the track.... holy wow! they're super cool cause that seems hard... i don't want to say more in case i have to run them tomorrow on the track. | |
| |
AM: Michigan on the track? yes, indeed. 17 laps of glory. (mile warm/cool) Started off feeling not too excited but ended up being pretty good. I wanna write down my splits so coach lemme see them sometime! The laps didn't actually occur to me so it wasn't all that tedious. I was focusing on staying with Stoner longer than last time and i ended up sticking with her until after the beginning of the second set? actually i'm not sure cause i lost count after 5. Coach yelled at me to choose if i was gonna stick with her and it scared me cause it reminded me of yesterdays recurrence.. but anyways i stuck with her but then all the sudden i lost her. She just kicked and it happened before i could react. Actually i reacted too late so the next set was trying to keep the gap from growing. I felt like i was going fast and my breathing was pretty steady and i wasn't having too hard of a time but mentally i was just angry that i lost her again. I knew i could stick with her longer than i did cause i felt fine. Finished with a 28:21, beat last weeks by a minute give or take. Watched Taylor and Liz run their guts out and am way proud of them! made me feel like i wasn't trying as hard as them. I just gotta let my body take over and run fast. But I'm happy i finished strong and surprisingly beat Kaylees PR michigan time by one second! Good work out overall. PM: (800 warm) 3 miles on our sportsman run. hot hot hot. 2x400's and stoner let me lead the first one and she did the other one. oh joy! Weights and plyos. holy tired legs! ice bath anyone? not you coach. saw Trevor! he had a nice looking beard going on... ha, funny.
| |
| | AM: 3 miles with 4x200's. oh golly.... legs legs legs. Stoner rolled me out later but i couldn't stop squirming. PM: (800 warm up) Sandburgs 3 mile. felt good to jump in but it was pretty nasty. really gots to roll and ice to prepare for tomorrow. |
| Race: |
Cedar Invitational (2.95 Miles) 00:19:38
AM: 3 miles. tired tired legs. PM: race in cedar. Not very good at all. Legs wouldn't move and was mentally down. positive is i still beat last years time on the course.
|
| | AM: 3x1mile repeats and 4x200's w/ pizza warm/cool. Wish i blogged reguraly cause i forgot what our times were. i remember them being good though. somewhere below 6:30... 6:25's? PM: 3 miles and 4 staduim hill sprints then 4x100 sprints. (equal recovery) |
| | AM: 3 miles plus striders PM: warm up and 3 miles. |
| | AM 3 miles and 2x400's. We beat up each others shadows.. PM: 3 miles |
| | AM: 3 PM: warm up and 3 to sandburgs. how i love that run. :) |
| | MARATHON! congrats to all, it was a pleasure to hand out water and occasionally throw some on your faces. Rachel and I overslept and by the time we got to the marathon we couldn't get in without consulting a police man who told us that it wasn't our year and that we should just go jump in a lake.. okay? But we were gonna let some lake jumping poe poe stop us! WE became fugitives. We parked the car somewhere between mile 26 and 25 and ran up to mile 22 where our aid station was. what..a..hill.. camelbaks with jackets was a lame idea. there was plenty of doughnuts and chocolate milk waiting anyways! anywho, even though Stoner was scared out of her pants that we were gonna get caught.. we never did! and so our journey up the hill went along. We finally got there triumphantly and later finished our run with Kaylee and Rachel H. We threw in a few fartleks too. It was pretty awesome. |
| | AM: 3 PM: 3 to sandburgs, very cold. then 4x200s THEN ice bathed with the boys in the huge tub. cold cold cold. Afterwards, stoner and i were shaking so bad that we took super hot showers.. k wasn't that hot but it warmed us up a bit. |

Region 9 (SUU course) (3 Miles) 00:20:04, Place overall: 9 | | AM: 3 PM: REGION! AHHH. well i was gonna pee my pants. I don't think i've ever been so nervous but i calmed down as we got there. The race was hard and fast. Felt pretty good and started off well and kept up with the top few girls. The last mile or so was the hardest and there was a lot of mind battling going. The little "incline" killed and i didn't know if my body was gonna take it. So hard when coach and kaylee and them were screaming to catch the cedar girls. Wasn't happy that i didn't but it gives me a goal to shoot for, for state. It was surprising how much my legs killed and burned but i'm glad that i tried hard from the start. JP is a killer and i gotta just stick with her, especially when she's that close to me. but anywho, boys and girls took 2nd and i know we did our best and it was great! |
| | AM: 3 PM: 4 to green springs. Girls plus Roberts ditched us while we used the restroom so we decided to beat them back and we risked running through an intersection but it was really safe. all the cars let us....it was our turn anyways.... but we beat the girls and roberts!! |
| | AM: 3 PM: 800, 600, 400, 200, 400, 200.. pizza warm/cool. pretty good until JP made us look lame on her last 400. But other than that, the group was pretty tight. 800 was 3:00, 400: 1:22.. last 400: 1:21.. hahaha.. It was pouring too! We were quite drenched afterwards. |
| | AM: 3 PM: 6 wave hills. fun stuff. (4 miles) |
| | AM: PSYCH! no mornings for this week!!!! I actually got to be human today and get ready :) PM: warm up, pizza warm/cool, relays 4x200. My team consisted of myself, Megan Finch, and Ali Peterson. We are the bomb and everyone couldn't handle that we won. They supposed that we cheated. It's not my fault i took advantage of the time when no one wanted to pick their team mates. Felt good except for the fact that cause we were so dang fast we didn't get much of a recovery so i was pretty died by the time we ended. but good work out! | |

State (3 Miles) 00:20:40, Place overall: 33
bleh. compared last years and was 10 sec slower. hope all these work outs will pay off at AF or arizona.. or both.
|
| | volleyball-- way of staying in shape |
| | Sunrise tires. hard stuff and taylor boyer was a beast! |
| | AM: 3 PM: 6 to greensprings, felt great but sore on my fanny from the hills |
| | AM: 3--sore PM: 4 to church by green pole and striders later. got attacked by the vicious boys. |
| | AM: 3 with the numb limbs PM: 1min, 2min, 3min, 3min, 2min, 1min... equal recovery (kinda) and 10-20 sec of sprinting.. something like that. Packed with Rachel and JP and felt good and strong. nice work out |
| | early out at school so ran 3 out to hot nails with Janzen, super fun. wish she would've done cross cause she was more than fine on the run. Then ran 4+ miles with Mikey, Abel, and Byron. super fun, should do that more often cause they're funny kids and it quickens the runs. While i was waiting for them to run shnobkibe (sp? who knows.) i stretched and did the usual amount of striders and they were taking too long so i just ran to them. fun fun fun. |

Runaway Bride 10K (6.2 Miles) 00:41:19, Place overall: 4 | | Kaylee picked me up early early in the morn and we drove over the course.. which wasn't marked and it took us forever long to figure out.. and then we raced! We were just standing around the starting line and all the sudden someone blew a horn and everyone just ran off so we had some catching up to do. There were a decent amount of hills so i'm counting that as my hilly run for the week. Kaylee and I ran up to the front and we kept a good pace for the next 3 miles and the veiled hat we had to wear bugged the heck out of me so i chucked it at some aid station.. i hope they didn't mind.. The dixie girl ran it too and we're not sure if she knew it was a 10k or not... hopefully she didn't think it was a 5k. Anyways, stuck up with Kaylee and felt fast and pretty good then Kaylee ran off and i attempted to keep the same good pace. Legs started hurting from the runs from this week so i could've done better if i prepared for it better but my body was tired... plus the bride i was running for wasn't even there so it was just a weird race. Happy i got to spend time with Miss Kaylee though!!! She got first by a long shot and some marathoner ladies passed me up on the last mile.. bummer. Ran a cool down later with Kaylee and found out that they don't time things well... It said kaylee got a 40 something but her watch said 38ish.. so i'm not actually sure what my time was. But good experience for my first 10k! I think i liked it... next a marathon? haha.. nah! |

(warm up) 2000 Time Trial + 2x1000 I, 3min rec, w/ Harts warm/cool. 2000 was a 7:14 (3:27 first 1000), then i got 3:29 and 3:48... Miss Ali killed it! I'm glad to know that she'll be pushing me as much as i'll be pushing her. But hopefully I'll become mentally stronger by then so it won't end up being anything like my last 1000. Cool down, pretty much every muscle in my lower limbs hurt and were tight. Probably should stretch and roll out like i should've after the 10k the other day..

| | AM: Michigan! stayed up with Stoner a lot longer than i ever have!! lost her at the last 400 but it felt 10 times better to just stay up with her! PM: 3 |
| | AM 3 PM 4 with 4x200. legs hurt |
| | 4 miles with striders. ran with Janz. Wasn't feeling well and my legs are hurting... janz keeps reminding me to stretch so i'm attempting... |
| | color me rad!! wooooo. supah fun with JP, Stoner, Janz, and Alli! got a mouth full of color. Janz and i ran it again after finishing cause we were satisfied with our looks. It was cold and so fun! |
| | 4 miles w/ striders. Janzen tagged along with me and it was great!! I love running with her :) |
| | Up in South Jordan til Sunday but brought my stretchy pants to go run!! woo. Ran to the South Jordan temple with Kenny. We thought it was a 4 miler but ended up being a bit more. I felt great, i love this cold weather! my calves were a bit tight but i don't think they'll ever be a run when they feel totally fine so i'll just have to get used to it. We stretched a nice long stretch and then had our thanksgiving dinner. But I didn't stuff myself at all this year which i'm ok with! Happy Thanksgiving! |
| | black friday shopping, temple square, kenny's laziness just added up to not being able to go run until 9pm! It was chilly and dark but we ran out to Riverton High school and on the way i tripped on so many rocks but the biggest thing i tripped over was this piece of stick that was stabbed into the ground. I didn't even see it but i broke it! Kenny didn't even notice but i got up and kept running. Cause kenny had to go like really bad i couldn't do the 200's so i'll do them tomorrow! |
| | Ran out by my own some to the Jordan River Temple and walked around the temple grounds and got some weird looks from what seemed like everybody. But i sat down on the grass and just focused on my breathing. I felt really out of place so i didn't stay long but it felt really good just focusing on one thing. Was planning on doing the 200s on Brigham high schools track but there was a firetruck and something was going on there so i didnt botuer. I'll probably go once my brother gets home. Started the tempo 2 miles out but wasn't feeling very good. I didn't feel like i had anything to burn off but kept it somewhat strong til the end. Wasn't the greatest tempo. Stretched outside the house for a good long time and learned how to whistle with the birds! but i guess they didn't like my whistling cause one flew dangerously close to my face. There was a shih-tsu watching me the whole time i was stretching and that was a bit creepy. | |

Mile time trial (1 Miles) 00:05:55, Place in age division: 3 | | DI warm/cool and timed mile. Got a 5:55 which wasn't too shabby.. but i wanna do WAY better! My goal this week is to finish all my homework, turn off electronics by 8 (it's still 6, i'm doing good), go to bed by 10 and be stress free. I'm actually gonna apply coaches lectures, a bit late but better to start now than never. I really want to do good this track season and I know this spring is gonna be super busy so i got to get myself into a routine where it'll be possible for me to accomplish all that i want to do. And it starts with finishing my pre cal homework! ah, i hate meth.

AM: 3 miles
PM: 4 miles plus striders. we made a bus.. it was quite fun.
| | AM: 3 miles.. in the school... not fun honestly | |
| | literally ran into Matt on the way back from our run. then went on a rollar skating date and redeemed myself by winning all 3 times on pool. |
| | ew. Mikes party thang was tots fun! |
| |
Ran with Kenny and my studly little cousin Jaden in Cali. Haven't ran in awhile but it felt nice to push up the hills. Afterwards Kenny and I did a shoulder work out that i know for sure i'll feel tomorrow.
|
| | Legs and core work out- Warm up: 10 squats, 10 lounges, 10 weightless dead lifts, 20 high knees. work out: 3x-10 weighted jump squats, 3x-10 weighted jump lounges (each leg), 3x-10 weighted dead lifts, 3x-20 weighted high knees. Then Ab ripper X on P90X. I never really thought the ab work outs were hard until i did a hard work out before the core. It was joyful.. like this holiday. Merry Christmas! oh and later after dinner we're running 4. |
| | Kenny told me that the second day is the worst of being sore. I thought yesterday was bad but i was wrong. Today, my whole entire body is sore and i got a few bruises on my neck from the stupid bar. I used to think being sore was a sweet pain but NO. |
