first day in cali.. hot and sweaty with alise.

ran with alise but we're too fat so it was a long run.. ran around the cute beach town of Avila.

Last day at Avila beach and took advantage of the many many many hills and did a work out on them then ended with a nice bare foot shore run with Alise.

home from cali, scaled myself, surprised, embarassing, went out for a run, burned off all those calories, back to normal! PHEW.

ran with Liz, Kaelie, Megan and Ali towards the dam road. Ahhh. too much vacationing and it's not ending here! Next week I'll do my best to run everyday during girls camp. I don't like this feeling of getting re-back into shape every week.

had a nice welcome back from the team. I felt super loved. Then come to find out, I'm not the object of getting made fun of about a boy anymore. yay! This year is looking good :) Felt okay but it really stinks to keep repeating this phase every week. bleh.

Started the grass run with Rachel and Kaylee with the guys then finished running with Roberts and the girls. Felt good but tired and still working on getting back into shape.. striders were fine and attempted focusing on being light and whatever else roberts told me haha. Kids camp, captain meeting.. glad to be home.

morning: 2 miles. at girls camp. why so many hills and no air? haha.

night: ran with Rachel, Liz, and Ali in the dark. We were laughing way too hard.. got an ab work out at the same time.

am: 5K at the dirt road. hit 5:01, 4:56, 4:59, 5:08, 5:03. Legs were tight and tired by the end but it feels good to be back!

pm: 3 miles after cross fit.. kinda tired. or really tired.

I did 18 30/30's. It was a pretty cool work out. My legs were tired from the work out yesterday so they were lagging but next time I'll just have to beat 18!

am: 5 miles with JP but now that I saw the board it was only 4.. eh oh well! chill pace with a random man following us that sounded like a horse.. He came up all the way to her house then turned around.. friendly neighbor perhaps?

pm: 3 miles at coaches, some fun stuff.

am: Hells hole with 4x1min and 4x30sec. The small rolling hills we usually do them on were magically gone from the mud or water... so we did it up the dreaded hill! The 1 mins were hard after 1 and I could feel my legs begging for mercy but I took them one at a time like how coach always says! the 30 seconds were just great! I felt so good even though I was breathing hard, I just wanted to get farther every time. After the first one I knew I could so I just went for it and surprisingly it wasn't as painful as I thought it'd be. It actually felt better to go faster. Why didn't I discover this before? Anyways, it felt good to be leading the team and hopefully I'll be able to keep my confidence up and motivated!

pm: 3 miles in the heat! but luckily there were some nice clouds :) weights after then went swimming at my brothers with Janzen and JP! wooo. nice and sun kissed.

7 miles with 2 miles tempo. Roberts split it into 8 parts with one of us leading every quarter mile. It went by fast that way and the last part was pretty hard with Roberts leading but I stayed up and it felt good to finish. The way home, Rachel and I bought some lemonade at the stand which was surprisingly really good and then when I was driving out I saw the boys and I think Coach yelled at me but I thought to get them some lemonade but i didn't! I felt soooo bad.. and I still do. what is this guilt I'm feeling?! They didn't even ask for any! But I still feel bad for not refreshing them with some yummy lemonade.. maybe they didn't even notice the stand. anyways, that's my morning!
